    Rebuild the Twin Towers!

No vivo en NY pero quiero realmente que las Torres Gemelas del World Trade Center deben volver.

Translation: I do not live in NY but I really want the World Trade Center Twin Towers to come back.

The Twin Towers need to be rebuilt. They represent The United States.

  • signature permalink Leon V 6/27/2019

We made the One WTC 6 floors shorter than the twin towers? Why? I don’t know. The new twin towers will be 112 stories tall! I think if we wanted to build a symbol of healing we would build a taller building. Right?

I’m not sure if this is still valid or not, but I guess that people like me will keep on dreaming. I have always been inspired by the Twin Towers, by their architecture and their beauty – that almost innocent, but immortal beauty, which only simple shapes can have. I used to consider those two buildings the pinnacle of the architecture of our days. An architectural heritage to the world, like the pyramids in Egypt from another era.
I’d love to see the Twin Towers rise again, like a phoenix bird who rises again from its own ashes to defy death and destruction – as a symbol of immortality.
Let the Twin Towers rise again like two phoenix birds who defy destruction, to convey the message of the immortality of our civilization.

I was born 6 Months after 9/11. I kinda missed out on seeing them. I want nothing more but to witness the Twin Towers again. If we don’t rebuild them we are letting the terrorists win and we can be defeated. The World has gotten worse as we know it ever since 9/11 happened and the Twin Towers NEED to be restored. Without them, there’s no hope. It may take some time but I have faith they will be rebuilt and I will help ensure that happens.

It would be great for me to visit New York and the twin towers. When they collapsed I was 5 years old. I remember how long these terrible images were shown on TV.
New WTC complex as if from another world. It suits Dubai more than New York. Therefore, I only for the restoration of the twin towers!

The Twin Towers were the most remarkable icon of New York. The new World Trade Center looks like it’s from another world. The new building doesn’t fit in comparison with the rest of the city. Give the people what they want. Rebuild the Twin Towers. We will never forget, even the people from other countries.

Yes, I was born in 2001, precisely in February, when they still shone high in the sky. But I was obviously too small to see them, this does not mean to have forgotten them. In fact I’ve always grown up remembering them and seeing them as an icon of the New York skyline. I know it will seem strange, but it is one of my greatest desires, and I do not think to speak only in my name, that of being able to admire them in person, huge, side by side, built as only the American skyscrapers can be. In a word “impressive”.
I hope with all my heart and soul that my dream is realized.
I apologize if my English is not one of the best.

I have always been in loved of the twin towers. I always thought the twin towers, symbol of USA must to be re-built! The re-built would be a sign of love for the country and for all those who lost their life the 9/11.
It would be a dream to come in NY one day and seeing them!

What is Paris without the Eiffel Tower? What is Egypt without the pyramids of Giza? What is China without the Great Wall? What is Berlin without the Brandenburg Gate? What is London without Big Ben? What is Havana without El Morro? What is Rio de Janeiro without Christ the Redeemer?

What is Washington without the White House? What is Los Angeles without the Hollywood sign? What is Chicago without the Sears Tower?

What is New York without the Twin Towers … like a human being without soul and without memory?!!!

Rebuild the Twin Towers now !!!

  • signature permalink Ramon Ibarra 10/28/2018

I was born in 1999 but didn’t see them really because i was too young, i’ve never had any chance to visit it and only recently started thinking about it. While NY has other things the twin towers really stood up. at least make a twin of the freedom tower or rebuild the twin towers. They looked very much like something of 20th century and I’m pretty sure a lot of people from all over the world would visit NY just to see the new twin towers!

I really don’t think I can add anything that hasn’t been said already, but… bear with me, maybe I can.

    I’m Italian.

Now, imagine if somebody blew up the Colosseum.

How would you feel if we neglected to rebuild it?

Because that’s what we did when the bell tower in Piazza San Marco was destroyed: we rebuilt it brick by brick, and now thousands of people – tourists and Venetians – can admire it in its rightful place every day.

That’s what we did when WWII destroyed Palermo, Catania, Siracuse and Naples. We rebuilt most of the landmarks, with our bare hands (and some help from our American friends, of course).

A lifelong dream of mine is to visit NYC.
And in my dream, when I come, there’s the Towers…

The Twin Towers were a symbol of NY architecture, freedom, and economic power. They were amazing in every possible way! I visited them as a kid and would love to see them again. With the rebuild of the Twin Towers based on Donald Trump’s proposal back in 2005, greatness will be restored in Lower Manhattan. New York deserves to have the Twin Towers back, and so does the rest of the world.

  • signature permalink Emilija Jesic 7/7/2018

Twin towers were such a treasure to the New York and to the USA. I think that they made a mistake for building a new “better” WTC, instead of just rebuilding the old ones. Oh, they we’re so beautiful, and so magnificent!

  • signature permalink Roie Shalom 6/17/2018

I became obsessed with reading about those towers previous year. I am still obsessed with them. I am very sad they are not there. Just came from NYC last week. Was looking at the 1wtc, and boy, the twins are missing. It was interfirring to the eye! I hope one day they will be rebuild. Lets try bring that day.

As a Norwegian/American living in Norway who has never been to NYC, I was sorely saddened when the towers fell. And now I’m hopeful that they will be rebuilt once again restoring greatness to lower Manhattan once again. The current skyline is not the same and not impressive whatsoever anymore. The original WTC 1 & 2 were amazing in every way possible and there were two of them! Even though One World is there, we can just build the Twins even higher! And not in glass! Let’s build them back! Yeah!

New york autorities can build twin towers in other location nearby the current wtc towers to avoid any destruction or complications with newly built Towers in grand zero. Thats the only solution. Please accept my solution to once again new york city can shine in the world of architecture and have the globally reknown skyline with new twin towers and current wtc towers together. Thanks so much and god bless america.

In my opinion, twin towers are essential parts of New York consist memories unreplacable by the freedom tower. Without them, New York is not New York. By the way, I really think the new world trade center is ugly.

  • signature permalink Guillaume Laporte 6/2/2017

Some immigrants came in New York based on nothing but a postcard they had seen — a photo with that distinctive Manhattan skyline. To me, a French citizen, New York always has been the Twin Towers. This distinctive, tough, violent shape, was indeed how America seemed to us. Powerful. Mighty. But also beautiful.

All the movies that featured the Twins have written in my head how NYC should look like. It’s now a ghost that haunts even me, a young citizen in France… That’s how amazing the Twin Towers were.

I’ve always wanted to see them, to breathe New York’s air from the observation deck, at nearly 400 meters from the ground. But now it’s impossible, and not only for New-Yorkers, but also for any citizen in the world. The new tower, somehow, has less than the old Twins.

Sorry Freedom Tower, but it’s going to be very hard for you to replace such icons.

It wouldn’t of been the Freedom Tower. It would of been the Freedom TowerS. Because we want BOTH of those towers back the way they were except we’re gonna build them stronger! We want them resisting! We’re just being held back.. Who is holding us back? Politicians. Special Interest Groups. Political Correctness. Get ’em the hell outta your way. I’m British, and I say. Let’s give the Americans a chance to build it back!

New York without the Twin Towers it’s like Rome without the Colosseum, you have to fix that vacuum. The Freedom tower is an insult, The WTC pre-911 was architecturally perfect.

Twin Towers were simple. but very business-style and great. I wish they were rebuilded. If they will it will be perfect. They will be like Rished From Ashes!
Never Forget. 15 years pass. We stilll remember and waiting towers to comeback!

Please Note: This petition is meant to provide a forum for this subject alone. It is a petition, not a bulletin board. We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition's purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn't activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one's full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.

* Indicates that the signer has not yet activated the validation link, often due to spamblocking software. They are included out of respect for the sincerity of the comments.
