What the WTC meant to me as an Australian:They symbolize not only NYC but the United States, the uniqueness and history with these majestic structures are something that is nowhere else in the world, since Philippe Petit’s 1974 stunt: performing acrobatics on a thin wire strung between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, to George Willig who climbed the South Tower of the World Trade Center on May 26, 1977, to King Kong and the many movies for which they were a back drop.
They are iconic in every sense. Donald Trump & architect Ken Gardner offered a plan to rebuild them taller and stronger but their idea was ignored. To rebuild would show the world America can’t and won’t be beaten, yet what is there now is the opposite…
