I was in the WTC the Friday before the attacks setting up a new office and was told by my IT installation department that my PC would not be connected until the 12th. At the time I was working in midtown and living in the Bronx. The move to the WTC would have meant a longer commute, however, I did not mind as this location was exactly where I wanted to be as I had always longed to work there as it was the place to be. The Freedom Tower no way replaces the visual satisfaction of the TWIN TOWERS! I have had a hole in my heart for the longing to see the TWIN TOWERS that never will be replaced by the Freedom Tower. Even now I wonder how the absence of a couple of buildings can weigh so heavily on my life! It does…holding back the tears!

Hell yeah rebuild the Twin Towers I wasn’t old enough to understand what was going on but now I’m old enough SO REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Rebuild the Twin Towers so that we win and not the bad guys… Is disgusting what they are building now the freedom tower.

The Twin Towers were such a powerful and iconic part of NYC. Manhattan just doesn’t feel the same without them. And unless they are rebuilt in some way, I don’t think New York will ever be that cool again. I’m fine with either rebuilding the twin towers as they were, or just having the memorial garden to respect the victims, but the new WTC 1 is very cold and corporate and ominous looking, and really has no connection with any of New York’s history or culture.

As the Twin Towers fell, First Aid Squads from throughout the State of NJ were staged in the Meadowlands. Approximately fifty were taken through the Holland Tunnel and staged at Chelsea Piers. One ambulance was placed at Ground Zero’s Comman Center, and it was the one I was part of the crew, “Mine Hill First Aid Squad”. Captain Edna Deacon, George Morris, Lisa Alers, and myself Ronald Regen. There were no lives to save at this point, but a lot to witness.

The Twin Towers have never left us, so let the enemy think that they have taken them from us.

  • signature permalink Spencer Schwartz 2/18/2008

Looking at our skyline without the Twin Towers is something we should never see again. I am disgusted by their recent plans, this “Freedom Tower” bull. I never thought I would say this, but Donald Trump was right. Build the Twin Towers again, but one story taller. I cannot think of any other plan giving more tribute to our lost brothers and sisters we lost that terrible day.

It was a crazy, and sorrow-filled day. And ever since, the city’s been different. Let’s rebuild.

The Twin Towers MUST be rebuilt! It’s the only and the best way to properly remember the victims, restore the city and to restore and give back to america!! The Freedom Tower is a disgusting desgin and cannot be built. Please. Lets unite and do the right thing!

I will never forget that dreadful day. We need to rebuild Three towers with the middle one being larger than the other two-in the shape of a middle finger- as a message to those who did that to us!! I am a born and bred New Yorker and love this city. There is NO DOUBT that we must rebuild. It’s sad that we have not been able to do that yet.

I drove from Tennessee on September 12th, to do what I could to clean up what had been my favorite spot in the country. To not rebuild what was once there, much admired, and cherished by most, is an insult to us all still here, and to those whose lives were lost. Surely common sense, and the common good willl prevail – and thank you for the opportunity to say it

While I don’t think our local politians have the wherewithal to actually rebuild the towers as they once stood, doing so would send a strong message to Bin Laden and his group of merry murders that this city’s landscape, and the U.S. in general, would not be altered by terrorist acts.

I think NYC deserves the landmark which was taken away from us !! Just as John D Rockefeller said when he wanted to build the WTC, NYC is the large Tall Buildings so we cannot change that now!!!
