I was born years after the attacks of September 2001. I first learned about the towers in a book about Philippe Petit who walked a tightrope between them, and I loved the towers ever since. But I knew I would never be able to visit them. this is why I am signing the petition. The New world trade center does not look like it fits as a replacement. Mabey the New world trade center could be built next to the original site, so the skyline does not get disturbed. we need them rebuild stronger but also keeping the original look, like the proposal for twin towers 2 (which would actually be a great fit for the skyline)

America needs to build back and build it better than before. As a symbol of unity patriotism and to truly never forget.

I believe the American people deserve the twin towers back. We need to rebuild and rebuild better. The current WTC 1 does not cut it alone. It would be beautiful to have the twin towers back in some form and standing next to the current complex. I do hope NYC and federal government politicians catch hold of this proposal. I believe this is one of the best development proposals of our lifetime. Until it is complete we need to keep fighting for it. Thank you to the Twin Towers Alliance for making this proposal and website available to us all. 🇺🇸

I’m an american citizen with an idea about potentially rebuilding the Towers next to the memorial, as a young person who hasn’t witnessed these 2 buildings that symbolized the US and the City of NYC, I personally agree that these towers should be rebuilt but stronger and 5 stories taller than the originals. After the 9/11 tragedy that took down the Twin Towers and left a huge hole in America’s heart, millions wanted these towers rebuilt after their destruction as they were represented as a symbol of the United States and NYC. Even Trump wanted these Towers rebuilt back in 2005 and Silverstein, Port Authority of NY and the people of NYC should do the right thing and we send a huge message that were still here. We don’t never accept defeat to terrorism. also visit triroc.com/wtc with plans.

The freedom tower is a modernized and over all safer version of the original North tower to my view so naturally I expected there to be a second freedom tower erected next to it but instead there’s been a bunch of pointy spike like things a Lego block display and now something else stupid I don’t believe the reflecting pools should ever be filled but I believe the freedom tower should have a twin to restore the skyline in some way as it would effectively give the twin towers to the country once more and twin towers that can never fall as the originals did

Bring back the twin towers in all their glory!

  • signature permalink Joshua Cope * 8/7/2022

The NYC Skyline has never been the same since 9/11. The New WTC built is bland and too modern and does little to incorporate the old designs of the original WTC; besides, I felt the reconstruction excluded many new yorkers and average Americans, and only the ones who owned the complex had a say, I believe that was wrong, I believe we should have had more of a say, it was totally possible to rebuild the towers, without disrespecting those who died, and it appears it still is, I would love to see the old skyline restored.

We Need The Twin Towers Back They Represent America The Most And They Always Will We Need These Towers To Shine in New York And Represent Who We are As The People And To Represent The Victims Of 9/11 And The Only Way To Do That Is To Bring Back The Twin Towers Of The World Trade Center And Bring Back The Better Skyline.

I was never truly satisfied with how they dealt with the WTC site after rebuilding. The twin towers was an icon of America’s greatness and was an iconic part of New York’s skyline and it was forcibly taken away from us. What we got in its place is an inferior replacement that im sure in time will be nice in its own way but will NEVER be as great as the twin towers. America was damaged by this and the 1 tower shows. Trump was right when he said if we dont rebuild the twin towers the terrorists win, because it sure feels that way now…

The Twin Towers should have been rebuilt bigger and better. The lone tower just doesn’t compare. It leaves the skyline feeling void of the American strength and resilience that the towers symbolized. It’s sad and I hope it will be corrected someday.

The ‘twin towers’ or World Trade Centers MUST be rebuilt. It is the only way in which we can recover from the 9/11 tragedy. Making the two towers stand tall once again will bring America in union and put a smile in the New York skyline. This time the towers should be tall, but retain the same fundamental design of the original World Trade Centre. The twin towers must stand again.

  • signature permalink Patrick Slane 9/16/2021

I am tired of only one tower where two once stood and us calling it “a bold recovery.” I am tired of Americans looking down. It is about time we started looking up again. I am tired of us saying “Never Forget.” I choose to say “Rebuild” because I dream of the day when all Americans can say “REBUILT!”

I was 9 years old when the tragedy occurred, I cry with every bit of research I do, but I’ve studied everything in and out all aspects I’ve grown to be so familiar with the twin towers like I grew up across the street from them, I love America and I will forever be heartbroken, I ask everyday why this had to happen to women and children, and hard working men who served our country, maybe not as protectors or defenders, but true American men who deserved protection in they’re beloved country, I tell myself if I were given the option to sacrifice myself to save these towers I would do it a million times, God bless America all the lives lost, forever in our hearts, never forgive, never forget, AND NEVER AGAIN PLEASE. These towers need to stand tall again to show American STANDS BACK UP.

The Twin Towers should DEFINITELY be rebuilt, taller and stronger than the originals! But since they can’t be rebuilt on the original site, they could be built somewhere else in Lower Manhattan, possibly even Midtown so it’s never too late.

The towers were beautiful buildings, let’s rebuild them to make sure those who never experienced them do, and those who did get to experience them once more. It will also help re-claim some of the post 9/11 innocence America lost after this tragic event.

Yes I am so glad that I found this, thank you thank you thank you!!! We need to rebuild the Twin Towers because I was born after 9/11 and never got to see their beauty!!! PLEASE REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!

  • signature permalink Drake Wicker * 4/23/2021

I have studied the twin towers for years and what they built there is garbage. They can’t even count right because they forgot a tower 6 in their plans. I believe that we need something that not only symbolises the past and nostalgia but the future and hope.

The twin towers should be rebuilt because the twin towers were a national symbol of America, tall and prospering. Ever since they’ve been taken down in 9/11 and replaced with some ugly buildings, I don’t know what America even is anymore. The twin towers were the national icon of America, heck I’d try to work there if it was rebuilt. America isn’t whole without the two towers of steel. The problem with the twin towers was the mistake of sending everyone back up when a plane hit one of the towers, but now we know if something like a loud bang happens, evacuate. The stairs were okay, but need to be a bit wider. Please bring back America’s meaning, through the rebuilding of the twin towers.

Hello I’m Jack. I’m a 14 year old teenager from Chicago. Growing up around a big city I’m used to seeing big buildings such as the Willis Tower that we have here. Ever since I had visited New York in 2019 I’ve been obsessed with the old Twin Towers. When I visited Ground Zero I thought that something was definitely missing. I’ve been asking the question, when will they rebuild the Twin Towers? forever now. Me being born in 2007 I was never alive to witness and experience a staple of American history and I think 2021 is finally that year that I get to experience it. Long live the Twin Towers!!!!!!!!

As I sit here writing this, I’m listening to “How Deep is Your Love”, a song that played at the World Trade Center for many years and during the attacks. Growing up I don’t remember visiting the Twins, but I found out recently through my mom that I did as a baby. I’ve been to the new complex of course, but the new buildings don’t do any justice for me. America lost a lot more than it gained with the policies put in place, but not more than the void that sits over the new site. One WTC just doesn’t do it for me as much as I want to say it would. Of course now they’ll never have the chance since the site is almost finished, and as weird as this sounds I hope the Twins are rebuilt elsewhere. I want to see them again with my own eyes.

The twin towers where the premier symbol of American prosperity and economic might. By not rebuilding them, we have allowed our enemies to change our way of life. Instead we have built a single tower that was built around fear. We cannot allow our way of life to be altered by cowards. The Twin Towers should have been rebuilt 15 years ago.

  • signature permalink Dalyn Snell 10/4/2020

As a former Staten Islander the Twin Towers were always in view and what defined New York City and ultimately what made our city skyline far different from anywhere on the planet. I would love to see these beautiful buildings restored as monuments of remembrance and not to be occupied. By doing this we can restore our skyline with also paying respects to the lives lost that day. People say to never forget, but if there are two monuments there it would be difficult to forget.

Rebuilding the twin towers is the only way for America to truly heal. Time alone will not do it. The new towers and fountains in the area do not do it justice. Rebuilding the towers bigger and stronger is the ultimate F you to enemies of peace and love for all people. It is also the ultimate memorial to the people lost. A lot better than some fountains with their names on it. However, if it’s possible, the towers should be built on top of the fountains, with the bottom being open air so the fountains can still be there. The iconic entry arches could be perfect for this too. Just without the glass, furniture, and floors behind them until 3 stories up. I might be rich from my video game company some day. I’d like to buy the land and build it.

On September 11th, America lost her innocence and entered a decade of paranoia, only inflamed by the Housing Bubble bursting in 2008-09. Nothing was the same after the attack, and our elected officials ignored the people and implemented a plan at Ground Zero that did not represent what we wanted. One World Trade Center symbolizes the bourgeois class, and how New York changed and has become a playground for the rich in one way or another. The Towers on the other hand symbolized Working Class America. The Twin Towers weren’t just “two filing cabinets”, they represented America. The Yin and Yang, per se, a monument for world peace and our dedication to making the world better. This is why I genuinely believe we *need* to rebuild.

I think we should have rebuilt the iconic twin towers. i grew up loving those towers when i was a kid. I like the new complex but having twins would have been better.

  • signature permalink Jacob Durand * 6/29/2020

The towers should be restored to the smallest details. All I request is that they stand stronger before, stronger perimeter walls, corners, and thick walls guarding the core and emergency staircases at each corner of the core. I have had the idea that they stand 1000 feet taller than the original towers, at 2368 feet. still have the sky lobbies on floors 44 and 78. At the 1368 foot mark (same of the original towers) there would be an observation deck/public area, and the same at 1776 foot mark and a 9/11 memorial/museum at the 2001 foot mark and some other public area at the top floor and the roof. And the antenna on the north tower which would actually be a spire in this case would take the north building to a total height of 2719 feet.

I believe the twin towers were beautiful the way they were and building a different building shows that we will come back differently. Had we built the World Trade Center how they were only stronger it would show that once you knock us down we will get right back up!

  • signature permalink David Esguerra 5/11/2020

I think the Twin Towers must be rebuilt because America has finally left the 9/11 era and we will show the world that we recovered from 9/11.

  • signature permalink Jack Tateronis 5/3/2020

The loss of the towers was a loss of identity for the city of New York and America. Everyone wants them back. They stood for the principles of this great country, and symbolized our unstoppable economy. Failing to rebuild one of the most culturally significant structures was a huge mistake. It’s time to give people hope and correct this. It’s time to bring them back!

New York is not the same without the Twin Towers. They were beautiful buildings, Yamasaki created a beautiful design…please keep it (safety standards of course).

We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition's purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn't activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one's full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.
