Like the Sphere and the Survivor Tree, the Twin Towers faced indescribable odds against them and came out on top in February 1993. I believe the Towers should be rebuilt. It would be a great display of resilience and make New York feel a little more like New York again.

I believe the towers should be rebuilt because of the history and symbolism they held for new york and the country as a whole. The timing is right, its been over 20 years and I don’t believe the buildings will trigger trauma responses from victims (only if they are NOT rebuilt on the original site). And while I wish they could’ve been rebuilt on the original site, it wouldn’t be feasible considering most of the new complex is finished. As long as the towers are in new york city, I’m fine with whatever spot they’d be rebuilt. I was born in 2000 my mom worked in the financial district until 2002 so I grew seeing ground zero and being so intrigued by the missing towers. I know I’m not the only one with this relationship the towers, and new yorkers deserve a chance to see them again in person.

I message my future self here to one day revive the New York skyline. I am hopeful that this will be accomplished with double the height of the original World Trade Center complex, showing the strength and pride that is displayed on every American’s faces. I also do believe in the remembrance of the victims of 9/11, in which I would say that the current “One World Trade Center” can be used as not only a tribute of those who have died, but as a replacement for the 9/11 museum and still plenty of space to offer. For now though, my plans for the future ahead of us are to divide the “One World Trade Center” in half and rebuild WTC 1 & 2 into double their initial height to rise up to an incredible altitude of 2,736 feet. A statement for the city of New York built into itself. God Willing.

The twin towers are the symbol of NYC. I never got the chance to see the towers myself but I would like to see them rebuilt and standing tall once again. Like Donald Trump once said “If we don’t rebuild the twin towers, the terrorists win” The towers need to come back and stronger than ever!

The World Trade Center should be rebuilt, as the World Trade Center was, except taller, a lot stronger, and a lot bolder! The skyline seems empty, as if something is missing – because something is missing! It’s what the nation needs, and it is what the nation wants.

They are what makes New York’s Skyline complete, I look at the Skyline and wish I could’ve been alive to see the Twin Towers, but no… I didn’t ever get to see them in person… But I signed this petition so I can hope that I can still see them one day…

Rebuilding the twin towers would not only be symbolic of this nation’s resiliency but it will give the opportunity for new generations to come to experience how magnificent they were. I don’t have deep connections to many places but I still do with the twin towers even though they’re no longer here. It was one of few things that made me proud to be a New Yorker actually. I miss them and I’m glad that I’m not alone.

A skyline without a symbol is meaningless, and the freedom tower fails to present that. All it will ever be is a solid reminder of that tragic day. It shows us New Yorkers towards the world that we aren’t capable of overcoming such a tragedy and it’s a sign of weakness, and that’s exactly what we aren’t. We are strong and very capable of healing. Bring us the skyline we miss in the bottom of our hearts. Please listen to the people.

Man it’s sad to know that a black man (not being racist or pulling the race card here) had tried to rebuild these 2 beautiful buildings and make the area look even better. But none of us peacefully protested at the site to rebuild the twin towers. They were both amazing and still are. Please rebuild both of these towers one day in Manhattan. If we can’t, what about the waterfront of Brooklyn or Queens? But as long as it’s in Manhattan or right close to it would be nice… I hope they rebuild them one day soon before it’s too late (they rebuild WTC 2).

I worked on Greenwich Street just down two blocks from the twin towers. Everyday I would just go to my spot and sit and admire the twin tower marvels. The twin towers should be rebuilt. I would have no problem at all working in newly built twin towers. It is almost an impossibility that any jetliners would ever be hijacked again. First, the passengers on the plane would not let it happen. Second, the cockpit doors are now enforced to withstand mega forces. I despise that new freedom tower. It is ugly and an insult to all. I truly hope new twin towers are built in my lifetime.

As a native New Yorker, looking at the NYC skyline and not seeing twin towers is a reminder of what happened on 9/11, and a constant reminder of terrorism. They do not need to be built as they once were, but twin towers should be there, in the form of 2 Freedom Towers or whatever seems suitable. Rebuilding such historical buildings is a sign of strength and is a great head start in the right direction of peace and unity.

I always loved the world trade center and i would love to see them again one day. The freedom tower is fine and all, but it doesn’t have the same appeal as the WTC, and Windows of the World was awesome getting to look at the view of NYC while eating good food. I grew up in NJ and I always saw the Twin Towers whenever we went to the city. To me, they symbolized NYC. I dare say that they WERE NYC for many people, myself included. The skyline just looks wrong without the Twin Towers back where they belong.
We should have rebuilt the towers. Not only would that make the skyline look right; not only would that be a fitting memorial to those who died there; it would be a nice, heartfelt “F You!” to those who brought them down! Give those bastards the finger times two!

I was only about 2 on 9/11. My father worked in 4 WTC. He is still alive to the day but for me this gave me the absence of experiencing and seeing these towers for myself. It’s a real shame we are seeing the freedom tower being replaced for this. As if these buildings never existed… REBUILD.

It’s really a disgrace that some of these elected officials abuse their power and ignore the popular decision to rebuild the twin towers as they WERE before, and go on design this piece of crap. Rebuild the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Even though it has been 14 years since 9/11 we still are scarred by that event. Not only were the Twin Towers a place a business they were a symbol of America’s prosperity and showed the world who we are as a country. We can’t replace that with a glass tower, that shows the terrorist organizations that they won by destroying America’s beloved towers. Be rebuilding it would be the most genuine form of healing of the scar left by the terrorists on Sept. 11th, 2001. We must rebuild!
The Twin towers should be rebuilt. What is there now is nice and all, but the twins need to rise again! Forget towers 2 and 3, build the Twins again!!!
The Twin towers were the greastest buildings ever, and what is there now, doesn’t fill the whole in the skyline that the twin towers made

The vision for the twin towers, and their construction was during a time in American history when our nation was an economic superpower, our prosperity was growing, and our future seemed bright, and towering. To rebuild the twin towers for the sake of recapturing our nation’s past before 9/11 would be a travesty. To rebuild the twin towers while our nation is economically depressed makes no sense. To rebuild the twin towers where the originals once stood would raise much controversy. If our nation is ever prosperous again, and debt free, we must not dwell over fountains of loss but look up to heaven as we construct two towering monuments that pay homage to the twin towers, and cement our memory of the victims of 9/11. This is why we mus
TTA Note: When this comment — much of which is opinion stated as fact — was cut off because it exceeded the default character limit, it was about to tell us why we “must” do something — apparently, one day rebuild. But there was only one reason that always dictated rebuilding — one that removed it from the realm of opinion and turned the politicians into actual villains: Because that was what the majority of the people wanted. And that is the “why” that is supposed to inform all that we do in this country.

I hope this is on-topic. I wish the Freedom Tower had NEVER been built and that the Twin Towers were rebuilt EXACTLY as they were before September 11, 2001.
I had seen them in the 1980s when I used to occasionally visit NYC with my family when I was young. But, I never appreciated them back then and I regret that. That’s why I wish the original Twin Towers were rebuilt just the way they were. Nothing can ever replace the Twin Towers. They gave NYC an awesome skyline before 9/11/2001.

A twin freedom tower should be built. The skyline isn’t the same. Although they are building Two World Trade Center at the moment, it will not look as nice as having Freedom Twin Towers. One World Trade Center just stands all alone and by Itself. It would look much better with a twin. It should have what the South Tower had, no antenna and an outdoor observation deck while One World Trade Center has the antenna. Do the right thing!

It’s not right that the Twin Towers were not rebuilt. I pray everyday that we build these building again. I feel we let these terrorist bad guys dictate how we live life and feel we let them defeat us. The Twin Towers were such a beautiful site and so inspiring. I was so fixated on those building since my childhood. America and the World have not been the same since they came down. If NY does not want to rebuild them then let NJ/Jersey City rebuild them. I will keep praying for them to be rebuilt. I’m sure everyone who tragically lost their life on 9/11 would want these beautiful buildings rebuilt. Can we get a real American to stand up for what’s right? Bill Gates or Donald Trump you have all that money, do something great and rebuild.

Ever since that unfaithful day everyone who died and who ever is crying out for help. But now the Twin Towers II can be rebuild if we stay strong and get more people to sign the petition and stop the ignorance of the New York State head. I am a New Yorker and I think the new Freedom Tower is very ugly. It is nothing at all like the original Twin Towers. Why weren’t the original Twin Towers rebuilt? This Freedom Tower is so ugly and will not even have an outdoor observation deck. And if they had to build it, why not build 2 Freedom Towers the same size? The new buildings are so ugly, it is just awful. Shame on the city for selecting these buildings.

I can’t help but get angry every time I watch the news and reporters are drooling over the freedom tower and how our country overcame the 9/11 attacks bigger and better. How 1 skinnier tower replacing 2 majestic powerful towers is considered better is mind boggling to me. The twin towers were 2 for a reason. Now when you look at the lower manhattan skyline and see one tower it just doesn’t look right or feel right. The new NYC skyline screams where’s my twin?! I was 2 and now I’m 1. I’m incomplete! Replace tower 2 with a twin freedom tower. Give us back Twin towers and make NYC whole again.

Honestly, i think that its a complete disgrace to america. we should have rebuilt the Twin Towers to show those terrorists that we are a strong nation, and that we cannot be taken down. As a New Yorker myself I think it is a disgrace to America for the towers not to be rebuilt. What is there now shows the monsters who took them down that they won. I think there should at least be a second freedom tower even though that would not be what should be there and the whole site should be called “Freedom Trade Center” or something like that.

I think the Twin Towers II should have been built instead of one lonely, not so attractive tower. I have never been to the original Twin Towers but saw it from afar from the Statue of Liberty back in 1992 and it just looked beautiful. I couldn’t believe it. I was a kid at the time and didn’t know my way around NYC. Anyway, it’d be great to see the Twin Towers again.
